Our Grounds
One ticket, a whole day of discovery
Old Faithful Geyser is more than a single moment — grounds to roam, a farm to visit, gardens to wander, a museum to explore, and lounges made for lingering.
The Geyser
One of only three faithful geysers in the world
At the heart of it all, a true wonder. In its early days the National Geographic Society named it one of only three “faithful” geysers in the world — alongside Yellowstone and New Zealand’s Lady Knox — for the dependable rhythm of its eruptions. About every 15 to 30 minutes, pressure builds deep underground until a column of hot water and steam surges skyward, then settles back into a quiet turquoise pool. Pull up a lounge chair, keep your camera close, and watch nature perform — all day long.

The Heritage Animal Farm
Meet the goats, sheep & llamas
A favorite with families. Meet our famous Tennessee Fainting Goats, our Jacob’s four-horn sheep, and the gentle guard llamas who watch over the flock — heritage breeds with real character, curious and endlessly photogenic. Come by with the kids to see the kids.
Geology Museum & Self-Guided Trails
The science beneath your feet
Step into our geology museum to learn about the ground we stand on — geothermal activity, volcanoes, and how earthquakes actually work. Watch a seismograph track what’s shaking in real time, and follow the self-guided signs around the grounds at your own speed. Hands-off, curiosity-on — equally rewarding for an eight-year-old and a lifelong rock hound.

Native & Culinary Gardens
A quieter pocket of the grounds
Wander gardens centered on a serene turquoise fountain and planted with California native species. It’s a place to slow down, smell the herbs and blooms, and appreciate the plants that thrive in Calistoga’s warm, dry climate. The gardens shift gently with the seasons, so there’s always something new to notice.
Picnic Lawns, Bocce & Lawn Games
Where a visit becomes an afternoon
Spread out on the lawns with sweeping views of the Palisades, bring a bottle of Napa wine, and make use of our complimentary picnic station — glasses, utensils and napkins provided. Then let the games begin: roll a few rounds of bocce, set up the corn-hole, and let the kids run. There’s no better way to pass the time between eruptions.

The Lounges & Market Plaza
The best seats in the house
For the best view, settle into our covered lounge areas — comfortable, shaded, and angled toward the geyser. The Market Plaza is the social heart of the grounds: a place to gather, regroup, and browse the gift shop for keepsakes and gift cards. Whether you’ve come for an hour or the whole day, this is where you’ll want to linger.
Come spend the day
